Privacy policy

Your home stays yours.

Last updated 9 October 2026

The short version

Tend doesn't collect, store or share any of your personal data. Everything you add stays on your device.

What Tend stores

The rooms, tasks and completion history you create, plus your reminder settings. These are stored on your iPhone, inside the app's own container, so Tend's widgets on the same device can show them. Tend has no servers and no accounts, so none of this is sent to Helena DeMaria-Williams.

iCloud sync

iCloud sync is off by default. If you turn it on in Settings, your Tend data is stored in your private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit so it can appear on your other devices. That data is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; Helena DeMaria-Williams cannot see it.

Notifications

The morning summary and overdue nudge are local notifications, scheduled and delivered on your device. No push service is involved.

Exporting your data

Settings › Data › Export creates a JSON file on your device. Where that file goes next is entirely up to you.

What Tend doesn't do

Deleting your data

Delete any room or task in the app and its history goes with it. Deleting the app removes everything stored on that device. If you used iCloud sync, you can remove Tend's iCloud data in the Settings app under your name › iCloud.

Children

Tend doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
